19 of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been earned on hardcourt

A resurgent Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial title for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.

Medvedev, a ex- number one, has endured a torrid period, winning just one win at the major tournaments and undergoing a meltdown at the American major.

His unpredictability on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serve in especial - led to him falling of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with long-term coach Gilles Cervara.

Currently training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the recent weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought three-set win over opponent Moutet.

It is the player's first championship following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt from spring of that year.

Victory also indicates he has achieved twenty-one titles at 21 various tournaments.

"It's the first time I am participating in a tournament with my two daughters at once, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I won when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."

Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six championship matches, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.

His counter-punching strategy and frequent emotional displays on court had led commentators to doubt if his capacity to compete at the elite level was over.

However the player has implemented adjustments in the past month, attempting to approach the net and play assertively, supported by an improved service.

Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the initial set against the challenging opponent, securing four of the concluding five points to gain the advantage.

Both players traded breaks in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his initial ATP Tour title, took control to push for a decider.

The opponent rescued 4 early chances in a close third set before the champion won the break to that score to secure the win.

Fittingly, Medvedev secured the win with a rally at the front of the court, with the Frenchman failing to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
